This time for a few more days and to celebrate Easter as well!

Now the sheep's had really started to deliver! At the most I think we got 18 lambs during one day!!! We had a lot to do, just to keep track of who's whose and to help out with the births.

<c>Here are some pictures and videos of the quite little ones:

Two siblings taking a power nap in the straw. Doesn't it look nice?!
--------------------------------------------

The whole big family is taking a nap in the shadow.
--------------------------------------------

But this one is having trouble finding a perfect spot for resting on a slippery belly... after some failed attempts, his mother got tired ot the "massage" and walked away. The lambs are often grouping together, climbing and jumping up and down on the sheeps laying down. Not making them selfs very popular ;)
--------------------------------------------

And while the mothers are feeding, the lambs get together exploring the environment. They are all gathered by the water supply. Obviously there is something very interesting over there today...

--------------------------------------------

Video of the lambs playing.
--------------------------------------------

Besides all the work with these newly born lambs, I also took the time to plow the fields and fixing the fences so they can let the animals out asap.

But the first thing I had to do on my arrival was to fulfill my commitment to Frida. And that was to follow through with an old Swedish tradition, usually performed by kids on Moundy Thursday.

This is how you do this: You dress yourself up as a colorful hag with a broom and a coffee pot. Write greeting cards and then you walk around the neighbourhood and knock on the doors, handing out your home made greeting cards wishing them a Happy Easter. In return you usually get candy, money or some other kind of gifts.

As I said, this is usually done by kids. So the neighbours back home looked a little surprised (but amused) when I, +25 showed up, dressed like this! lol =)

And in pictures, this is how we did it:

First, the participants arrived...
--------------------------------------------

The making of the cards...
--------------------------------------------

And this is the whole troup gathered, prior to take off!
--------------------------------------------

Success! Really nice hotel!

This was more or less the second time in my life that I've tried skiing down hill! =)
I can assure you that I was a little nervous when I grabbed my equipment and headed up the hill the first day, not knowing what to expect or how to ski...

It was very foggy, but for me that was just an advantage, because if I had seen how steep it really was, my legs would have been shaking even more ;)

But since I was part of a group of 20 persons (who stopped and waited for me and other beginners), there was no time for re-thinking or being scared. Just do it! And after lunch the first day (and with a cup of Glüwhine in the blood), I started to feel a bit more safe and comfortable on the skis and I had a really great time the following days, really enjoying the steep, red marked hills!

This is a map over the systems in Bad Gastein area. I've marked the one I've been skiing in (white dots = first day, purple rings = day 2-3 and blue rings = day 4)

The peak of this trip was the skiing on Sportgastein on Monday morning! First on top, clear blue sky, sunny and a layer of new, sparkeling snow! It's an awesome, indescribable feeling going downhill in these conditions! Most definitely something you really should experience in life!

Here are some pictures from the trip:
Sara Schörlinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00222526511022035497noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6043896286354136343.post-18212859292460172872011-01-22T13:30:00.000-08:002011-01-30T04:33:17.881-08:00Beautiful winter landscape 22/1We've now had snow since November and this weekend the sun was shining upon us as well. So I took the opportunity to go for a walk in Ruddalen, a small, calm and nice area just next to my building were you can go running, play football, bandy, skate, ski just relax and spend some time in the "forest".

I was walking for about 2 hours and took some pics along the way. Enjoy the beautiful winter days!

Sara Schörlinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00222526511022035497noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6043896286354136343.post-54524368141866829682011-01-07T15:30:00.000-08:002011-01-07T18:01:04.015-08:00Italy 29/12 2010 - 4/1 2011I took a trip to Turin, Italy to celebrate New Years and visit my friends (Davide, Marco M, Marco D and Marco G)from the Windpower technology course in Falkenberg during June 2009

I stayed at Marco's place in Turin most of the time, but for New Years we took a trip to the mountain village Travelsella, north of Turin. It's about animal behavior in captivity and SLU cooperate with the zoo park Nordens Ark.

The first gathering was in Skara and the other two was and will be at Nordens Ark, since we're doing a individual project work on the animals within the park.

I've added some pictures from this weekend. Everything was awesome! The staff, teachers, environment and animals. The weather was nice almost all the weekend as well, just a bit rainy on Sunday afternoon.

And here are some videos on how they train their tigers, amulepards and otters:
Sara Schörlinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00222526511022035497noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6043896286354136343.post-49897687611779942072010-07-09T04:39:00.000-07:002010-12-18T04:42:12.511-08:00Where is Sara?Since I'm still traveling around a lot and I'm lucky to have a lot of friends who wants to see me. They are very yummy!

I made 41 buns, but I assure you they didn't last for long ;) (well, it's 38 left. At the moment...)

You can find the recipe in Swedish here and in english here:

Cinnamon Spins with apples
Portions: 36 pc

100 g margarine or butter
5 dl milk
50 g fresh yeast
1 dl sugar
1 tsp cardamom
1 / 2 tsp salt
13-14 dl wheat flour

Filling
150 g margarine or butter
1 dl sugar
1 tbsp cinnamon
2 tsp vanilla sugar
2-3 apples

Garnish
1 egg
Nib or granulated sugar

Do like this
1. Melt the butter in a saucepan, add milk and heat to 37 ° C. Bit down the yeast in a bowl and stir down the butter and milk. Add sugar, cardamom and salt. Work in almost all flour to a smooth dough. Let it ferment covered with baking towel about 30 minutes.
2. Stir the ingredients for the filling except apples. Peel, stone and cut the apples into small cubes.
3. Remove the dough of flour and knead the bench. Divide dough into 2-3 parts. Roll out each piece into a flat about 30x50 cm, wide on the fill. Sprinkle over apple dice in half the dough and fold it double. Cut the strips about 3 cm wide, divide them in half but let them stay together in the upper edge. Twist them together into a "knot".
4. Put the buns on plates. Ferment them covered with a towel, about 25 minutes. Turn on the oven to 250 ° C.
5. Whip up the egg and brush the buns. Sprinkle over the sugar.
6. Bake the buns in the oven 6-8 minutes. Let them cool on the screen, under a towel.

Comida deliciosa!!

35 buns left now... ;)Sara Schörlinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00222526511022035497noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6043896286354136343.post-50940144375245836112009-07-25T06:46:00.000-07:002010-12-18T06:46:37.086-08:00A day with Virginia (25/7)Virginia picked me up at 11 a clock in a Audi TT =)
Then we hit the road and went to Varberg (as planned...). It was a bit crowded, so it took some time and patience to find a parking spot. But just when we was about to give up, three parking spots became available! Just in time.

Then we started walking around Varbergs fortress and the town center. We ate a good pasta just next to the market space in town. I spent the first two days (Sunday-Tuesday) at Richards place in Linköping, then two and a half day with Nathalie in Norrköping. I had also pre-booked a adventure at Kolmårdens Djurpark (zoo): Visit and pet the wolfs! (I received this adventure as a gift card last Christmas)

The wolf's greeting ceremony is to jump up and put it's front pawns on your shoulders and then lick you in the corner of the mouth, and then the whole face =) Very nice...

And they can get a bit jealous as well, so you might end up with 3 or 4 wolf's licking your face. Otherwise they just love when you scratch them on their belly!

Here are some pictures from the wolf encounter:

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjsmcSrp_nOGVl4zi_unt0xRx9hU2IySnRxQ2TB28esbD4o9HJdMMBmCLz_bKkJTLECwWJdYTMsDDvF34s0jNTTOUM-53aCR1nsgQ-ryHasd3iIH4Rf5PxfoXzIPxAFAi_SQAtP06qoiZAt/s320/2009-07-22--23+Kolm%C3%A5rden.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5363110386656336450" />
I can assure you that it was an incredible and unforgettable experience! Wow, the wolfs are soooo amazing. I, together with 14 other people and the keeper, went into the enclosure of four 9 year old male wolfs. We all freezed when the wolfs ran towards us. They are quite big you know ;) Then the wolf at the top of the hierarchy started snarling at the other wolfs (not us), just to maintain the hierarchy/order in the group and let the others know what they are allowed to do and not. Some of you maybe recognise this behaviour from a group of tame dogs. The keeper told us that a tame, unknown wolf is more reliable than a unknown dogs, because the wolfs body language is easier to read and they'll rather back away that bite. So we felt pretty safe.

If you're thinking about what to buy for a birthday/Christmas present or just wanna do something different and exiting, I encourage you to do something like this! It's a great and unforgettable experience!

And here are pictures of the other animals that you can see in the park, incl me and Nathalie:

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXsFK-3B_lpGbKQt47zPVF9rNNgL3EGcipwnmNVti8w2UL7d_l1ZhYMj3TLAZVWFJ8o15EBy6vxJ1V2kiHQ7GDJ2UmLc1fCVv3bggmOUFWaJiXQAl2xdyvcKIBJ6-8wcUPqrtutdS8K__K/s320/2009-07-22--23+Kolm%C3%A5rden1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5363116801457730898" />
Now I'm back in Göteborg where I'll prepare myself for the 2+2 week long education at SIDA's headquarters in Härnösand (starting on the 10th of Aug). That's a lot for a little community as Hultsfred, with only 5300 inhabitants. I was there with some friends to see Metallica (and some of the other band that played). Here's the schedule for the night:

I'm not a big fan of all of the bands, mainly Metallica. But it's always nice to listen to live music, although I have to say that I don't fancy the screaming kind of music that was preformed here... ;)

And off course it had to raaaaaaiiiiin!! But only for a few hours in the afternoon, so it was quite okay. Here are some pics from the evening:

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhsefa6Tr4OPsVtg4aV6bol240JlqFfSisU-_ThNS-1opIVsceUgo4ec5vd6DalK0zarn7iChSW_oJer0NNa998ONtdQaz6XklUpuOJsnUnHFusHcY-JyxXjVlaAcjOqlR08Xx9uBxqWR2B/s320/2009-07-18+Sonisphere+festival+H-fred.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5360123091486841010" />

2009-07-18 Metallica concert in Hultsfred

My favorite is off course Metallica's 2 hours long performance. But I was a bit disappointed actually. I was expected more of them. Listening to them live was just like listening to the album from top to bottom. Nothing special really... They should be able to do a better performance live!Sara Schörlinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00222526511022035497noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6043896286354136343.post-64400530340516575522009-07-19T06:42:00.000-07:002010-12-18T06:42:56.645-08:00Birthday party in Fallhult<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlmo307g-0Uqelf7BGwBzlah2lgxwuTJOg0ZrgKJkzGiJ7mBlUkffdb-4bNTj2tLjlCmFYXThJElWc9Hr9YB-wLcTlCjg1IEfZiIKRrVa5pe27ELpHeK7H781HlTCkwtUMUhsqqWL6F71T/s320/2009-07-17+Milles+kalas.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5360111409132023762" />

On the 17th of July, our old lady Mildred turned 84 years old. We are not related, but she is like my grandmother anyway. My parents both the farm from her, when her husband suddenly past away about 25 years ago. She has always been like one in the family, and always will.

Mille means a lot to me and I love spending time with here. She has a lot of story's and knowledge to tell and makes the tasties pastries in the world!!! Although she is 84 years old, there is nothing stopping here. She's a very spry old person, pretty persistent and above all, loving and caring.

She has a lovely garden which she take good care of, and a big house to maintain. I just helped here out with cleaning the fens and part of the house walls during last week, otherwise she takes care of the house almost all by her self. But off course my family helps her out when needed (and my brother lives on the second floor in her house). So on that date, the whole family gathered in Falkenberg to watch the show. And since it was a very very hot and sunny day, we also took a trip to the beach.

I tested my waterproof camera in the sea, and it worked just fine. But sadly, I'm a very poor photographer, so there are no good underwater pictures to show you. You have to manage with the one bellow:

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 256px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNZivd5wVXVnNhVOmaY17uEwDiogVE19q0VAFnFMm_td81_plV2ZLLC2mIYqIKUasCCEo43Cw7iuIRnARYByLcm4DN7evJ7ApE2IF9t5EMR_BT2wd_4Z8xubAv-HehqbaKDuPcSBeu7dbU/s320/Revy+falkenberg.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5358442229097720738" />
The variety show was very good. We laughed a lot (as expected, since it's a comedy show ;) ) and enjoyed the weather. About 28 degrees hot! And because of my many sunbathing hours the day before, I had to have a towel on my back to protect my sore skin :/

As you can see, we also played miniture golf! It's kind of a family tradition when the whole family is on vacation. I had to try some different golf-poses as well. Looking good, ey? =)Sara Schörlinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00222526511022035497noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6043896286354136343.post-72857563311003182052009-06-18T06:35:00.000-07:002010-12-18T06:36:46.302-08:00Best company, best food and one of the best time ever in my life! This has been my best two weeks ever I think. I've met so nice, funny and super sweet people during this course. They are now my family!

We have been cooking dinner together every day. A taste of all the different food cultures that was living inside this B&B. The people from the other B&B's joined us (even though it wasn't appreciated by the neighbours and our host ;) ) and we have had sooooo much fun.

This amount of food is enough for 6-7 months i think. So now i might not need to eat during my whole trip in Nicaragua ;)

Here is a picture were almost everyone can be seen, and the very tasty food!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFc1FmWsCWdnK_I_4_4AB41l4wfrm25X1YVpuTbdL6_x9MYyhA4BJVMK53oiVAZW22VftOtf59DurRd69EywGpWjOllwayogOhaIr2LXVpLxWThVqQT_XdRGLiYbMaeasBrNinc5rxhOgE/s320/IMGP0321.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5350334389691502466" />Sara Schörlinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00222526511022035497noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6043896286354136343.post-49296331754779988472009-06-15T06:35:00.000-07:002010-12-18T06:35:31.836-08:00Climbing a wind turbineThis is Ana and me, 30 meters up in the air in a wind turbine tower in Falkenberg. This was a study visit we made when attending the summer course of Wind power technology. Provided by Halmstads University.

It's, beside the interesting subject, a very good course. Because the university pays for our accommodation and breakfast at a B&B and lunch during this course. They also provides us with bikes.

But the best was yet to be discovered....

I meet Davide, an Italian student that was going to attend this course, in Gothenborg earlier this day. I showed him around the harbor and opera. Then we took the train down to Falkenberg and to or B&B.

Here we meet with the other guys who was going to attend the course as well. I don't know why, but for some reason I thought that they all would be quite old...

But the majority of the students was between 25-30 years old and very easy to get along with. And I was going to share a two bedded room with a girl name Ana, from Spain.
